Synopsis

Martina is a Minorcan girl who grew up cooking with her grandmother Candela, who passed on her love for the island's traditional gastronomy. Over the years, the young chef travels the world in search of a magical and unique flavour, but nevertheless, she feels unsatisfied. Finally, she returns to Menorca where she rediscovers that the true magic of flavours is to be found in the simple and authentic recipes of her grandmother. With this revelation, Martina reopens the family restaurant, bringing a new vision of local traditions.

Objectives

Menorca held the mandate of European Region of Gastronomy in 2022, awarded by the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism (IGCAT).Being awarded the Region of Gastronomy title means to contribute to a better quality of life raising awareness about the importance of food and cultural uniqueness; stimulating creativity and gastronomic innovation; educating for improved nutrition; improving sustainable tourism standards; highlighting distinctive food cultures; and strengthening community well-being.The film promote sustainable practices, products, local recipes and traditional ones related to the gastronomy of the region. It also pretends to play a key role in raising awareness of the importance of cultural and food uniqueness, and contribute to a more sustainable future.
